2007 Bill Moore

Bill Moore grew up in Woodbury.  He played for the first traveling hockey teams in what was then called Woodbury/Newport Youth Hockey Assocoation.  His high school career involved playing three sports as well as being involved in the schools choir and theater program.  Bill was chosen as Royal Athletic of the Year at Woodbury in 1980.  Following his high school career, Bill attended St. Mary's College in Winona, Minnesota where he played soccer and hockey.  Again, he was fortunate in being chosen as the St. Mary's College Male Athlete of the Year in 1983.  Following graduation, Moore began a rewarding career in teaching and coaching.

Bill coached high school and college hockey for 21 years.  During that time, he was selected Section Coach of the Year in 1996.  Bill received the "Charlie Stryker Coach of the Year" award from the Minnesota Wild and 3M in 2004.  He served for three years as the Preseident of the Minnesota Hockey Coaches Association, and for 5 years as Coaching Coordinator for Minnesota Hockey in District 8.  Additionally, he served as USA Hockey High School Section Director for Minnesota Hockey as well as Director of the ELITE II High School Fall Hockey League. Mr. Moore also held an advanced certification from the coaches' achievement program for USA Hockey.

"The sacrifices that my wife and kids made for me to coach allowed me to put the time and effort into coaching meant a trememdous amount to me".  Bill enjoyed working with the high school and youth associations from all three programs that he was involved with.
