Pat O'Leary

Pat has been involved with coaching, training athletes, and instructing hockey for more than 15 years.  He began his high school coaching career at Orono High School in 2006, and then to Wayzata High School in 2007.  He took over the Varsity head coaching responsibilities in 2011.  Pat O’Leary played varsity hockey at Armstrong High School High School where he was selected to the All-State teams in 1997 and 1998, and was a Mr. Hockey Finalist in 1998.  He attended and played hockey for the University of Minnesota from 1998-2002.  In 2002, the U of M Gopher Hockey team won the NCAA Men’s Hockey Championship.  Pat was drafted in 1998 in the 3rd round (73rd overall) by the Phoenix Coyotes.  Pat continued to play hockey professionally after graduating from college in the UHL from 2002-2004 and in the ECHL from 2004-2005.  Pat has lead the Wayzata Trojans to the State Tournament 3 times, and the Trojans won the AA title in 2016.
