1938:  Cully Dahlstrom became the first rookie in Chicago history to score a playoff overtime goal, connecting at 33:01 of OT and Mike Karakas recorded his 2nd career shutout in a 1-0 win over the visiting NY Americans in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Semi-Finals.

1949:  Former North Stars goalie Gilles Gilbert born in St. Esprit, Que.  Gilbert played in the NHL 1969-70 through 1962-63.

1967:  The team representing the Minnesota-Ontario Junior Hockey League wins the U.S. Junior Olympic National Championship at Broadmoor World Arena in Colorado Springs, CO.  The team was coached by Larry Hendrickson and combined players from the four Minneapolis-St. Paul based Junior Teams.  (This was regarded as the St. Paul Vulcans 1st National Championship.

1968:  Minnesota North Stars conclude their first inaugural season in a 5-3 loss to St. Louis Blues.  Minnesota finished with an overall record of 27-32-15 overall, with an average Met Center attendance of 11,861.

1970:  Bill Collins scored two goals and added an assist to lead the North Stars to a 5-2 win against the Los Angeles Kings, at the Met Center.

1981:  Bobby Smith scored two goals and added an assist, and rookie Neal Broten from Roseau, MN playing in his first game in the NHL, scored one goal in the North Stars' 6-3 win over the St. Louis Blues, in Minnesota.  Brotens goal came at 04:03 of the 3rd period with assists by Brad Palmer and Gordie Roberts.

1987:  Glen Sonmor took over as the North Stars Head Coach, replacing Lorne Henning.  It was Sonmor's fourth tour of duty as North Stars' coach.

1988:  New Jersey's Aaron Broten set a franchise record with his 57th assist of the season and also scored a goal, and defenseman Tom Kurvers picked up three assists in a 7-2 win at Pittsburgh.

1989:  Mike Gartner scored a goal and added three assists to lead the North Stars to a 5-1 win at Detroit.

1990:  Minnesota's Brian Bellows tied a club record with his 55th goal of the season as the North Stars won 6-3 at St. Louis.  The goal also extended Bellows' team-record goal scoring streak to 10 straight games.

1992:  Minnesota defenseman Mark Tinordi picked up 31 penalty minutes and an assist and defenseman Derian Hatcher added 26 PIM for the North Stars in a 5-3 win vs. Buffalo.

1993:  Shane Churla picked up 27 penalty minutes for the North Stars in a 5-2 loss at Edmonton.

1994:  The 1994 NCAA Men's Frozen Four Championship held on March 31 through April 2nd at the St. Paul Civic Center. Lake Superior State defeated Boston University 9-1 in the National Championship game to win it's second title in three years, and schools third overall National Championship.

2001:  Minnesota set a team record for most shots in a game, when they took 42 in a 4-1 loss at Nashville.

2003:  Matt Johnson became the first player in Minnesota Wild history to get 200 penalty minutes in one season when he picked up a minor during a 3-0 win over the visiting Flames. Manny Fernandez got his 8th career shutout, and the Wild's 1st against Calgary.

2004:  Marc Chouinard scored two goals, including the winning goal 53 seconds into overtime and added an assist as the Wild won 5-4 against the visiting Colorado Avalanche.

2004:  Mark Parrish and Roman Hamrlik each scored two goals and added an assist to lead the Islanders to a 5-1 win over the visiting Montreal Canadiens.

2009:  Bruins rookie Blake Wheeler had his 20th goal of the season in a 3-1 win over the visiting Tampa Bay Lightning.

2010:  Jason Blake scored a goal and four assists to lead the Ducks to a 5-2 win at Denver.

2011:  Minnesota native Matt Cullen scored his 500th career NHL point with an assist to help the Wild to a 4-2 win over the visiting Edmonton Oilers.

2011:  Andrew Brunette became the 4th player to get 200 assists with Minnesota and Pierre-Marc Bouchard had an assist to become the 2nd player to get 300 points with the Wild in a 4-2 win over the visiting Edmonton Oilers.

2012:  Jason Zucker and Justin Falk became the first pair of rookies in Minnesota Wild history to each get two (or more) assists in the same game, when they each picked up two helpers in a 4-3 shootout win over the visiting L.A. Kings.

2014:  Minnesota Wild signed college free agent defenseman Christian Folin, who had been playing at Massachusetts-Lowell.

2014:  Ilya Bryzgalov improved to 4-0-2 since joining Minnesota and Mike Yeo recorded his 100th coaching win as the Wild overcame a 2-1 deficit after two periods for a 3-2 win at Los Angeles.
