1968:  Cesare Maniago got a shutout as the North Stars won 3-0 over the Pittsburgh Penguins in Minnesota.  It was the 8th career shutout for Maniago.

1974:  Minnesota's Gump Worsley recorded his 335th (and final) NHL career victory in the North Stars' 5-1 victory over the visiting Pittsburgh Penguins.  Bill Goldsworthy scored his 8th career hat trick while Dennis Hextall had a goal and three assists.

1975:  Minnesota North Stars' forward Dennis Hextall became part of the second father-son combo in NHL history who each scored 100 (or more) career goals, when he connected for the 100th of his career in a 3-3 tie against the visiting NY Islanders.

1980:  Minnesota North Stars set a team record by allowing just 13 shots against in a 7-1 win over the Colorado Rockies, at Met Center.  Steve Christoff led the scoring with a goal and two assists.

1981:  University of Minnesota Center, and Roseau, MN native - Neal Broten was named the winner of the 1st ever Hobey Baker Award.  (Neal was presented as Inaugural award recipient a week later following his first NHL game/goal on April 1, 1981 at banquet dinner.  The award is given to the most outstanding player in College Hockey by the Decathlon Athletic Club in Bloomington MN).

1987:  The "Godfather of Minnesota Hockey" - John Mariucci passed away and was layed to rest 3 days later March, 26 1987.  Mariucci in 1967 was named the assistant to general manager for the Minnesota North Stars with Glen Sonmor becoming the Gophers' coach.  He eventually would work for Lou Nanne, one of his Gopher Hockey players, and held the position with the North Stars until his death.

1988:  Marc Habscheid had three assists as the Minnesota North Stars recorded the 600th win in franchise history, 5-4 over the Blackhawks at Chicago.

1991:  Winnipeg's Phil Housley set Jets' records for defensemen with his 23rd goal and 75th point in a 3-0 win at Edmonton.  Housley broke Dave Ellett's record for goals, and Babych's record for defensemen.

1991:  NHL center Erik Haula born in Pori, Finland.  Haula has played in the NHL since 2013-14 with Minnesota.

1993:  Rookie Ben Hankinson scored his first two NHL goals and added an assist as the New Jersey Devils picked up their 300th home victory in franchise history (dating back to 1974-75) 9-3 over the Tampa Bay Lightning.

2001:  The 1st ever NCAA sponsored Women's National Hockey Championship started today held at Ridder Arena on the University of Minnesota campus, and ended with the Championship game on March 25, 2001.  The format of the tournament involved 4 schools playing in single elimination to determine the NCAA Division I Champion (Frozen Four).  The University of Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs defeated St. Lawrence 4-2 to win the 2001 Inaugural Championship.

2002:  Jason Marshall had six penalty minutes to give him 132 PIM for the season, a new team record for defensemen; he broke the mark of 131 PIM set by Andy Sutton in 2000-01 in a 2-1 loss to the Islanders in New York.

2003:  Matt Johnson set a Minnesota team record for fastest goal when he scored just :21 into a 4-0 win vs. Detroit.  Dwayne Roloson got his 11th career shutout and the Wild became just the 3rd expansion team in 30 years to make the playoffs in Year 3.

2003:  St. Louis Blues' forward Shjon Podein scored his 100th career NHL goal and Reed Low picked up 27 penalty minutes in a 3-1 loss at Dallas.

2010:  Minnesota defenseman Nick Schultz became just the first player in franchise history to appear in 600 games with the Wild; the milestone came in a 4-1 loss to the visiting San Jose Sharks.

2010:  Loui Eriksson and Matt Niskanen scored goals 30 seconds apart early in the third period as the Dallas Stars were outshot 35-14 at Nashville, but came away with a 3-1 win over the Predators.

2013:  Minnesota's Niklas Backstrom recorded his 27th career shutout and became the first goaltender in Wild history to get a shutout in a game in which he faced a penalty shot; he reached the milestone in a 2-0 win over the visiting Sharks.

2014:  Minnesota trailed 2-0 halfway through the game but came back as Matt Moulson picked up a third-period assist then scored the winner at 2:15 of overtime for a 4-3 win at Detroit.

2014:  Brian Elliott recorded his 25th career shutout and Blaine, MN native David Backes scored the only goal of the game as the Penguins beat the visiting St. Louis Blues 1-0.

2015:  Minnesota Wild tied a franchise record 44 road points in a single season, and a club record 9 straight road wins vs. Toronto Maple Leafs, 2-1.  The win marked Goaltender Devan Dubnyks' 31st straight start in goal since joining the Wild (23-6-1), 1.74 GAA, .937 Save %, 5 shut-outs, and allowed 2 goals or less in 23 out of 31 games.
