1972:  Former NHL left winger Craig Johnson born in St. Paul, Minnesota.  Johnson played in the NHL 1994-95 through 2003-04 with St. Louis, Los Angeles, Anaheim, Toronto and Washington.

1979:  Defenseman Reed Larson scored a goal and added two assists to lead the Red Wings to a 4-2 win over the Black Hawks at Chicago.

1984:  Steve Payne scored two goals and added an assist to lead the North Stars to a 5-5 tie with the Quebec Nordiques, in Minnesota.

1984:  Buffalo's 20-year-old Phil Housley became the youngest defenseman in NHL history to score 30 goals in one season, in a 4-3 Sabres' loss at Edmonton.

1989:  Mike Gartner became the 7th player in NHL history to get 30+ goals for 10 straight seasons and added an assist and Jon Casey recorded his first career shutout for the Minnesota North Stars in a 3-0 win over the visiting Sabres.

1990:  Buffalo's Phil Housley scored at 2:03 of overtime to give the Sabres a 4-3 win over the Winnipeg Jets, at the Aud.  It was Housley's second goal of the night, and his 20th of the season.

1990:  Basil McRae picked up 34 penalty minutes for the Minnesota North Stars in a 4-3 loss vs. Washington.  Warren 'Rip' Williams was awarded the Minnesota Hockey Youth Leadership Award for his contributions to youth and amateur hockey in Duluth between periods of this game at the Met Center.

1993: Winnipeg defenseman Phil Housley scored a goal and two assists to give him 800 career NHL points, as the Jets won 5-2 at Vancouver.

1994:  As a part of the 1992 strike settlement, the NHL and Bruce McNall's Multivision Marketing and Public Relations Co. organized 26 regular season games in cities without a franchise as a litmus test for future expansion.  The Buffalo Sabres-2 vs. N.Y. Islanders-2 in OT game was held at Target Center in downtown Minneapolis before 8,016 fans, following the Minnesota North Stars departure to Dallas, TX.

2001:  Lubomir Serekas became the first defenseman in Minnesota Wild team history to get 10 goals in one season, and added an assist in a 4-3 loss at Colorado.

2002:  Richard Park set a Minnesota team record for fastest two goals in a home game when he scored twice in a span of 1:20 during the second period of a 4-2 win vs. Calgary.

2004:  Manny Fernandez made 31 saves to record his 10th career shutout and the Minnesota Wild recorded the 50th road victory in franchise history, and their first ever shutout over the Bruins, with a 2-0 win at Boston.

2010:  Minnesota Wild signed Elk River, MN native free agent Nate Prosser.

2014:  Mikko Koivu became the all-time leading scorer in Minnesota Wild history in a 6-0 win over the Islanders in New York; His 3 assists gave him 438 points (breaking the record set by Marian Gaborik). Ilya Bryzgalov recorded the Wild's 1st shutout vs NYI.
