1952:  Former NHL All-Star Left Winger "Big-Mac" Al MacAdam born in Prince Edward Island.  MacAdam played in the NHL 1974-75 through 1984-84 with Philadelphia Flyers, California Golden Seals, Cleveland Barons, Minnesota North Stars and Vancouver Canucks.

1971:  North stars took a 4-0 lead in the first 8:30 of play and set a team record with six first period goals, and Bill Goldsworthy scored his second career hat trick to give him 100 NHL career goals and added an assist in a 7-2 win at Los Angeles.

1971:  North Stars set a franchise record for fastest three goals when Doug Mohns, Charlie Burns and Buster Harvey combined to score in a span of 1:11 during the first period of a 7-2 win at Los Angeles.

1972:  Bob Nevin and Murray Oliver each scored a goal and added three assists to lead the Minnesota North Stars to a 6-2 win over Vancouver at the Met Center.

1974:  Minnesota Golden Gophers capture the schools first ever National Championship in a 4-2 over Michigan Tech.  With the win, they became the 1st team in 25 years to win a National Championship with only Americans on the roster under the guidance of St. Paul, MN native Herb Brooks.

1980:  Bobby Smith scored a goal and added three assists as the MN North Stars began a team-record 7 game winning streak, with a 6-1 win over the Whalers, at Hartford.

1980:  Minnesota State University Mavericks reached the pinnacle, capturing the Division II National Championship with a 5-2 victory over Elmira in Elmira, N.Y.  All-American Goaltender Steve Carroll made 42 saves in the win.

1983:  Rookie Brian Bellows scored twice to lead the Minnesota North Stars to a 3-2 win over the visiting Pittsburgh Penguins.

1985:  Dirk Graham scored a goal and added two assists to lead the North Stars to a 4-2 win over the Canadiens at Montreal.

1989:  Rookie Don Barber scored his first career NHL pure hat trick as the North Stars beat Chicago 6-1.

1989  Minnesota's Mike Gartner scored twice in a 6-1 North Stars' win against Chicago, to give him 400 goals in his NHL career.  Gartner became the 28th NHL player to reach the 400 goal mark.

1989:  Tom Kurvers tied the New Jersey franchise record for points in a season by a defenseman when he picked up an assist in a 2-1 loss to Pittsburgh.  The assist gave him a total of 57 points, to tie the record set by Dave Pichette in 1984-85.

2004:  Minnesota's Marian Gaborik scored his 7th career hat trick and added two assists as the Wild won 5-2 over the visiting Ottawa Senators.

2006:  Tom Preissing scored two goals and added an assist to lead the Sharks to a 5-2 win against the visiting St. Louis Blues.

2010:  Minnesota Wild signed free agent Casey Wellman, who had been playing for the University of Massachusetts.

2010:  Josh Harding became the first goalie in Minnesota history to win 3 straight games when facing 35+ shots a game and giving up 2 goals or less as the Wild beat Edmonton for the 13th straight time at home, with a 4-2 win over the visiting Oilers.

2011:  The New York Islanders signed Roseau, MN native Aaron Ness to a three-year entry level contract.

2013:  Devin Setoguchi scored twice and picked up his 100th career NHL assist and Dany Heatley had two assists to give him 400 in his career as the Wild beat the Avalanche 6-4 in Denver.

2014:  Robbinsdale, MN native Blake Wheeler tied a career high with four assists to lead the Winnipeg Jets to a 7-2 win over the visiting Dallas Stars.

2015:  Edina Junior Gold A Hockey team captured the State Title in an epic 7-OT game over Wayzata that started the day prior (Sunday March 15th).  According to the State High School League, the most overtimes in a game ever recorded was 11 back in 1955 - but that game lasted 93 minutes, 12 seconds which made the Edina game winner the longest game in State H.S. Hockey History at 109 minutes.  With the win, Edina moved onto the National Junior Gold Tournament in St. Louis.
