1971:  Al Smith made 20 saves to earn his 4th career shutout, as the Penguins tied the North Stars 0-0 at the Civic Arena.  Cesare Maniago recorded his second consecutive shutout (the 16th of his career) for Minnesota.

1976:  Chicago's Billy Reay became the winningest coach with one team in NHL history, when he registered his 501st coaching victory as the Black Hawks beat the North Stars 4-1 at Minnesota.  Toe Blake had previously collected 500 wins with Montreal.

1977:  Alex Pirus scored two goals and added two assists to lead the Minnesota North Stars to a 5-5 tie against the NY Islanders, at the Met Center.

1980:  The 36th annual MSHSL State Boys High School Hockey Tournament is held at the St. Paul Civic Center from March 13-15th.

1982:  Bobby Smith scored twice as the Minnesota North Stars extended their team-record undefeated streak to 11 straight games (8-0-3), with a 3-2 win over the Blues, at St. Louis.

1985:  Defenseman Reed Larson became the 5th player (and second defenseman) to score 500 points as a member of the Detroit Red Wings, with an goal in a 7-6 loss at Edmonton.

1993:  Final game played at "Old Mariucci" Arena in a University of Minnesota play-off win over the visiting conference rival Fighting Sioux 5-4 in OT.  7,449 spectators in attendance.

1995:  Goaltender Andy Moog faced 46 shots, and Corey Millen picked up three assists as the Stars won 4-2 over the Blackhawks, in Dallas.

1996:  Toronto obtained Wendel Clark, Mathieu Schneider and D.J. Smith from the New York Islanders in exchange for Darby Hendrickson, Kenny Jonsson, Sean Haggerty and the Leafs' 1st round pick in the 1997 Entry Draft.

1997:  Philadelphia's Joel Otto scored a goal and added an assist to give him 500 points in his NHL career; the milestone came in a 5-4 overtime win against the visiting Edmonton Oilers.

1999:  Phil Housley picked up three assists to give him 1,066 career NHL points, the most by a U.S. born player, as Calgary won 5-4 in overtime at Washington.  Housley broke the record of 1,063 points held by Joe Mullen.

2001:  Minnesota Wild traded defenseman Curtis Leschyshyn to the Ottawa Senators in exchange for Ottawa's 3rd-round pick in the 2001 Entry Draft and a conditional pick in the 2002 Entry Draft.

2001:  Phoenix Coyotes traded left wing Keith Tkachuk to the St. Louis Blues in exchange for center Michal Handzus, center Ladislav Nagy, the rights to center Jeff Taffe and a 1st-round pick in the 2001 or 2002 Entry Draft.

2002:  Mighty Ducks of Anaheim were credited with their 150th home victory in team history, when they beat the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-2.  Matt Cullen scored twice in the first period to lead the scoring, while Timo Parssinen had two assists.

2007:  Minnesota defenseman Brent Burns scored in overtime for the second consecutive game, notching a goal with 35.8 seconds left as the Wild reached the 40 victory milestone for the first time in team history, with a 3-2 overtime win at Vancouver.

2008:  Devils' Jamie Langenbrunner scored the lone shootout goal as New Jersey won 4-3 at Minnesota.

2013:  Minnesota Wild signed free agent Brett Clark.

2014:  Minnesota's Darcy Kuemper set a team rookie record for goalies with his 12th win of the season in a 2-1 win over the visiting NY Rangers. He broke the mark of 11 wins set by Josh Harding in 2007-08.
