1950:  Chicago's Frank Brimsek became the third goaltender in NHL history to record 250 career victories as the Black Hawks won 6-3 over the Rangers at New York.

1970:  Minnesota's Charlie Burns became the final player/coach to score a goal in a regular season NHL game, when he tallied once in a 5-4 North Stars' win against the visiting Boston Bruins.

1971:  Bill Goldsworthy became the first Minnesota North Star to get hat tricks in two straight games, and set a team record with four goals in the game, a 6-3 win at Vancouver.  It was his third career hat trick.

1979: Minnesota's Mike Fidler and rookie Steve Payne each scored their first career hat tricks as the North Stars recorded the 200th home win in franchise history, 7-3 over the Philadelphia Flyers.

1980:  Tim Young and Tom McCarthy each scored a goal and added two assists to lead the Minnesota North Stars to a 4-3 win over the Capitals at Washington.

1980:  Reed Larson led the scoring with three assists for the Red Wings in a 5-2 win at Vancouver. 

1982:  Dave Christian, of the Winnipeg Jets had three assists in an 8-2 win over Detroit.

1983:  Gordie Roberts scored a goal and added two assists as the North Stars won 4-3 over the Black Hawks in Minnesota.

1983:  Aaron Broten scored twice in the third period, and rookie Jeff Larmer picked up three assists to lead the Devils to a 4-2 win over the visiting New York Rangers.

1986: Calgary's Neil Sheehy set a Flames' team record, with 41 penalty minutes in a 5-5 tie against the Canucks, at the Saddledome.  Sheehy had 3 minors, one major and three 10-minute misconducts.

1986:  Andy Moog made 51 saves as Edmonton tied a team record with their 31st home win of the season, a 5-4 OT win over the visiting Minnesota North Stars.  Mark Napier had two goals and an assist as the teams combined to take 100 shots.

1988:  NHL defenseman Erik Johnson born in Bloomington, MN.  Johnson has played in the NHL since 2007-08 with St. Louis and Colorado.

1994:  Vancouver traded Craig Janney to the St. Louis Blues in exchange for Jeff Brown, Bret Hedican and Nathan Lafayette, in one of 18 deals (involving 35 players) made prior to the 1994 NHL trading deadline.

1994:  Dallas Stars traded Jim Johnson to the Washington Capitals in exchange for Alan May and Washington's 7th round pick in the 1995 Entry Draft, in one of 18 deals (involving 35 players) made prior to the 1994 NHL trading deadline.

2001:  Minnesota's Jamie McLennan recorded his 9th career shutout as the Wild tied 0-0 against the visiting Predators, for their first shutout ever against Nashville.

2001:  Arturs Irbe was in goal for the Carolina Hurricanes' first shutout ever against Buffalo, a 1-0 win over the visiting Sabres. David Tanabe scored the only goal of the game and Irbe picked up his 30th career shutout.

2003:  Despite being outshot 36-21 by the Stars, Wes Walz scored the winning goal at 1:30 of overtime as the Wild won 3-2 at Dallas.

2006:  Minnesota's Marian Gaborik scored in the second period then tied a team record with seven shots in the third period -- and scoring another goal -- in a 3-1 win over the visiting Calgary Flames.  He finished the night with 9 shots.

2007:  Ranger goaltender Henrik Lundqvist recorded his second shutout in three games (and the 7th of his career) and Matt Cullen picked up his 200th career assist as New York won 5-0 against the visiting Flyers.

2008:  Islander rookie Kyle Okposo scored his first NHL goal, the game-winning goal with 2:35 remaining in regulation and added an assist, and goalie Wade Dubielewicz made 34 saves (outshot 35-16 by Devils) as New York won 3-1 at New Jersey.

2008:  Minnesota Wild picked up the 100th road victory in franchise history with a 2-1 win over the Canucks at Vancouver.

2010:  Chuck Kobasew scored twice to give him four goals in four games, as the Wild beat the visiting Calgary Flames 4-3.

2010:  Mikko Koivu became the fourth player to score 250 points as a member of the Minnesota Wild; he reached the milestone with two assists in a 4-3 win over the visiting Flames.

2014:  The National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) Inaugural "Frozen Faceoff" Championship Tournament started on this date & was held from (3-21-2014 - 3-22-2014) in downtown Minneapolis at the formidable Target Center.

2014:  Virginia, Minnesota native Matt Cullen had a goal and three assists to lead the Predators to a 6-5 win at Calgary.

2015:  Minnesota Wild Justin Fontaine had 1 goal and 2 assists in the Wilds' 6-3 win vs. St. Louis Blues, for his 2nd career 3-point game (last a hat-trick on 1-9-2014) for 14 points in the last 18 games.  Wild Defenseman Ryan Suter had 2 assists in the win for his 59th multi-point game, and 7th for the 2014-2015 season.  With the 2 helpers, it moved Suter to the franchise season lead with 33 assists, and tied for 13th amongst NHL Defensemen.
