1971: Murray Oliver scored a goal and two assists, and Jude Drouin had three assists to lead the Minnesota North Stars to a 4-4 tie against Detroit at the Met Center.
1974: Danny Grant scored two goals and added an assist in the Minnesota North Stars' 5-5 tie against the Rangers at New York.
1977: NHL defenseman Marek Zidlicky born in Most, Czech. Zidlicky has played in the NHL since 2003-04 with Nashville, the Minnesota Wild and New Jersey.
1980: Al MacAdam scored twice and added three assists to lead the Minnesota North Stars to a 6-2 win over the Colorado Rockies at the Met Center.
1982: Bobby Smith, Al MacAdam and rookie Neal Broten each scored a goal and added two assists, and Steve Payne had three assists to lead the Minnesota North Stars to a 9-6 win over the Penguins at Pittsburgh.
1984: Brian Bellows scored a goal and added two assists as the Minnesota North Stars won 4-1 over the Sabres at Buffalo.
1991: Phil Housley had a goal and two assists to lead the Winnipeg Jets to a 4-3 win over the Rangers, at New York.
1993: Dave Gagner scored twice and added two assists to lead the Minnesota North Stars to a 7-3 win over the Sharks at San Jose.
1995: Minnesota State University Mavericks moved into Mankato's new downtown Civic Center and defeated Alabama Huntsville 6-3 in the inaugural game. The Mavericks' Chris Hvinden scored the first goal in the building.
2006: In a pre-game ceremony at the DECC Arena in Duluth, MN. Brett Hull's #29 UMD jersey was retired by the school before the UMD Bulldogs played the Wisconsin Badgers.
2007: John Madden, Jamie Langenbrunner and Zach Parise scored in a 2:31 span early in the third period in the Devils 3-2 win against the visiting Sabres. New Jersey outshot Buffalo 37-17.
2007: Minnesota's Marian Gaborik set a team record for fastest goal from the start of the second period when he scored 12 seconds into the 2nd and rookie Niklas Backstrom recorded the team's first shutout in Phoenix, a 1-0 win over the Coyotes.
2007: Chicago traded right wing Brandon Bochenski to Boston in exchange for right wing Kris Versteeg and a conditional pick in the 2008 Entry Draft.
2012: Minnesota acquired Erik Christensen and a 7th round pick in 2013 from the New York Rangers in exchange for Casey Wellman.
2012: Jaroslav Halak recorded his third 1-0 shutout in three weeks (the 21st shutout of his NHL career) and Duluth, MN native Jamie Langenbrunner scored the only goal of the game to give the Blues a 1-0 victory over the visiting L.A. Kings.
2014: Edmonton was outshot 44-28 but goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov made 42 saves and Blaine, MN native Matt Hendricks scored a shorthanded goal to give the Oilers a 3-2 win at Buffalo.
2015: N.Y. Islanders Forward, and Edina, MN native Anders Lee scored 2 goals to earn the #2 Star of the Night in a 4-2 loss to the Florida Panthers.
2015: Marking his 200th NHL appearance in net - Devan Dubnyk stopped all 24 shots he faced to record his 12th career shutout over the Chicao Blackhawks, and 4th of the season (3rd with Wild), guiding the Wild to the 4th consecutive vistory. Dubnyk improved to 6-1-0 with a 1.48GAA, .943 save %. Per Elias Sports Bureau, Devan became the fastest goaltender in franchise history to register 3 shutouts in 8 games played. The win over the Hawks was the first regular-season win since January 23, 2014 snapping a four-game skid in the head-to-head series over the Blackhawks.
