1955: Former NHL right winger Bo Berglund born in Sjalevad, Sweden. Berglund played in the NHL 1983-84 through 1985-86 with Quebec, the Minnesota North Stars and Philadelphia.
1963: Former NHL goalie Mike Sands born in Mississauga, Ont. Sands played in the NHL 1984-85 through 1986-87 with the Minnesota North Stars.
1972: Minnesota's Jude Drouin tied a team playoff record with four points (a goal and three assists) as the North Stars won 6-5 in overtime over the visiting St. Louis Blues, in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Quarter-Finals.
1973: The Minnesota Fighting Saints played in the franchises 1st playoff game on the road against the Winnipeg Jets, a 3-1 loss. Mike Antonovich notched the teams first ever recorded playoff goal in the loss.
1975: Washington's Stan Gilbertson scored four goals (including his first career hat trick in a club record 3:26) and added an assist in the Capitals 8-4 win over the Penguins. Tommy Williams also helped in the scoring with two goals and four assists.
1975: Washington Capitals ended their team-record 11 game home losing streak with an 8-4 win over the visiting Pittsburgh Penguins. Stan Gilbertson led the scoring with four goals and an assist.
1975: Garnet "Ace" Bailey set a Washington Capitals team record with four assists and teammate Tommy Williams set another record with 6 points (2 goals and 4 assists) in an 8-4 win over the visiting Pittsburgh Penguins.
1979: Al MacAdam scored a goal and added an assist to lead the Minnesota North Stars to a 2-2 tie against the Canucks at Vancouver.
1980: Detroit's Jim Korn tied a Red Wings team record for rookie defensemen with his 108th penalty minute of the season in a 5-3 loss at Hartford; he tied the mark of 108 PIM set by Howie Young in 1960-61.
1983: Steve Payne had three assists to lead the Minnesota North Stars to a 5-4 win over Toronto in Game One of the Stanley Cup Division Semi-Finals.
1991: Minnesota North Stars set a franchise playoff record for most penalty minutes in a game, with 77 in a 5-2 loss at Chicago, in Game 2 of the Norris Division Semi-Finals.
1993: Brian Propp scored twice as the North Stars won 3-1 over the Sabres, in Minnesota.
2001: Darby Hendrickson scored twice, including the game-winner with 1:20 remaining in regulations as the Minnesota Wild won 3-2 against the visiting Columbus Blue Jackets.
2003: Marian Gaborik scored his 30th goal of the season for the second time in his career and added an assist as the Wild finished with 95 points in third place in the Northwest Division, 4-3 win against the visiting Columbus Blue Jackets.
2006: Derek Boogaard became the first rookie in Minnesota Wild history to get 150 penalty minutes, when he picked up two minors in a 2-1 shootout victory over the visiting Edmonton Oilers.
2008: Brent Burns became just the second defenseman in Minnesota Wild history to appear in all 82 games in a one season; the milestone came in a 4-3 shootout loss at Colorado.
2008: Pierre-Marc Bouchard became the first player in Minnesota Wild history to get 50 assists in one season; the milestone came in a 4-3 shootout loss at Colorado.
2013: Hastings, MN native Derek Stepan and Ryan Callahan scored 31 seconds apart and Henrik Lundqvist had 48 saves to lead the Rangers to a 4-1 win at Carolina.
2015: N.Y. Rangers Forward, and Hastings, MN native - Derek Stepan had 2 goals and 1 assist including the game-winning goal to earn the #1 Star of the Night in the Rangers' 4-3 OT win over the Columbus Blue Jackets.
2015: Winnipeg Forward, and Plymouth, MN native - Blake Wheeler scored the Jets' game-winning goal to earn the #2 Star of the Night over the Minnesota Wild.
