1966: Former NHL left winger Tom Chorske born in Minneapolis, MN. Chorske played in the NHL 1989-90 through 1999-00 with the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Montreal Canadiens, New Jersey, Ottawa, the New York Islanders, Washington and Calgary.
1967: The expansion Minnesota North Stars played their second preseason game in team history (and second in two nights), and improved to 2-0-0 all-time with 7-3 win over the Los Angeles Kings in a game played at Hamilton Ontario.
1971: Former NHL center Cam Stewart born in Kitchener, Ont. Stewart played in the NHL 1993-94 through 2000-01 with Boston, Florida and the Minnesota Wild.
1982: Colorado Rockies traded goaltender Steve Janaszak to Calgary in exchange for future considerations.
2000: Minnesota Wild signed free agent Pascal Dupuis.
2009: Minnesota Wild signed free agent defenseman Bjorn Krupp (son of former NHL'er Uwe Krupp).
2014: Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, MN, home of the NHL Minnesota WIld was voted as "Best Stadium Experience" in the NHL by ESPN the Magazine Sports Nation poll - 4th best in all of sports by fans.
2014: Minnesota Wild goaltender Josh Harding was suspended by the franchise following an off-ice fractured ankle injury ahead of training camp in an altercation with a teammate. With the injury Harding will not be payed by the Wild, and his contract does not count against the salary cap.
2014: Minnesota Wild restricted free agent goaltender Darcy Kuemper agreed to terms on a two year deal worth $1 Million the first year, and $1.5 Million the second year. Kuemper had been entertaining offers from the Russian Hockey league (KHL) if his demands were not met from the Minnesota Wild.
