1986:  Hockey Hall of Fame inducted its newest members:  Former Minnesota North Star Leo Boivin, Fomer WHA Minnesota Fighting Saint Dave Keon (the only former Saint player so inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame), Serge Savard and builder William Hanley.

1988:  NHL right wing Carson McMillan born in Brandon, Manitoba.  McMillan has played in the NHL since 2010-11 with the Minnesota Wild.

2004:   The World Cup of Hockey International Ice Hockey Tournament was held in 7 host cities - eight years after the inaugural 1996 World Cup of Hockey.  Team USA faced off vs. visiting Finland on this date in the Tournament Semi-Finals at the host United States venue - Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, MN.  USA lost the game 1-2 in front of an attendance of 18,064. 

2010:  Minnesota Wild named former Wild player, and Richfield, MN native Darby Hendrickson as an assistant coach.

2010:  St. Louis Blues named forwards David Backes and Alex Steen and defenseman Barret Jackman and Erik Johnson as their assistant captains for the 2010-11 season.
