1972:  Jim Dorey and Duluth, MN native Tommy Williams joined the WHA Whalers.

1975:  Former NHL left winger Christoph Brandner born in Bruck an der Mur, Austria.  Brandner played in the NHL 2003-04 with the Minnesota Wild.

1978:  Harry Howell took over as the Minnesota North Stars Head Coach, replacing Lou Nanne, who was named the new North Stars GM.

1983:  Washington traded Dennis Maruk to the Minnesota North Stars in exchange for Minnesota's second round choice (Stephen Leach) in the 1984 Entry Draft.

1988:  Quebec Nordiques traded Mike Eagles to Chicago in exchange for Bob Mason.

2006:  The Minnesota Wild signed free agent defensemen Paul Albers and Mike Madill and forward Ryan Hamilton.

2006:  New York Rangers signed free agent Daniel Girardi.

2006:  Philadelphia Flyers signed free agent forward Mark Cullen.

2011:  The Minnesota Wild named John Torchetti as Head Coach of the Houston Aeros of the AHL.

2011:  The Minnesota Wild signed free agent Jeff Taffe.

2012:  The Minnesota Wild agreed to terms with D Justin Falk on a one-year, one-way contract worth $825,000.

2013:  Winnipeg Jets acquired Devin Setoguchi from Minnesota in exchange for a second-round pick in exchange for a second-round pick in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

2013:  Free-agent Defenseman - Keith Ballard signed to a two-year contract.

2013:  Free agent Forward - Matt Cooke signed a three-year contract with the Minnesota Wild.

2013:  Minnesota Wild Defenseman Jarod Spurgeon re-signed to a three-year contract.

2013:  Edmonton Oilers signed free agent (and Edina, MN native) Will Acton.

2013:  Nashville Predators signed Virginia, MN native Matt Cullen as a free agent.

2016:  Minnesota Wild re-signed goaltender Darcy Keumper to a one-year, $1.55 million contract.
