Matt Majka

Matt Majka was named Minnesota Sports and Entertainment (MSE) Chief Operating Officer (COO) on September 25, 2008 and is currently in his 19th year with the organization.  He previously held the positions of Executive Vice President, Senior Vice President, Business Operations and Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Sponsorships.  MSE is a regional sports and entertainment leader that has grown into several different business operations including the Minnesota Wild, its minor league affiliate, the Houston Aeros, Wildside Caterers, 317 on Rice Park and the facility management of Xcel Energy Center and Saint Paul RiverCentre.

During his tenure with the Wild, Majka has been instrumental in fostering the unique relationship between the hockey club and its fan base.  The team’s continued dedication to the fans of the “State of Hockey” was shown in 2003 as Sports Fans of America Association, Inc., awarded its NHL Sports Fan Quality Award to the Minnesota Wild as the league’s “Fan Friendliest” team.  Also, in an ESPN survey published in February of 2003, the Wild ranked number one for stadium experience and second in fan
relationships among 123 sports franchises.  Matt and the Minnesota Wild have been invaluable supporters and strong partners of the Minnesota Hockey Coaches Association and high school hockey since the club’s inception.  Every high school program has a jersey hanging in the Xcel Energy Center and high school hockey is a focal point of the annual Hockey Day in Minnesota celebration.  These are due in large part to the efforts of Matt Majka.  The Detroit, Mich., native has lived in the Twin Cities for more than 40 years.  Majka is a 1984 graduate of the University of Minnesota.  He and his wife, Kymberly, have two sons, Sam and Nick. The family resides in Wayzata, MN.
