1998 Bill Frantti

Bill Frantti is a native of Calumet, Michigan and graduated from high school in Calumet in 1946.  He attended Michigan Tech from 1948-1950 where he played both hockey and football, and later played both hockey and football for the Huskies of St. Cloud State from 1950-1952 where he graduated.  Bill coached football and basketball at Kenyon high school from 1952-1955, and football and hockey at St. Cloud Tech high school from 1955-1985 when he retired from coaching in 1985.

Bill has received many honors in induction into the Minnesota Hockey Coaches Hall of Fame, St. Cloud State University Hall of Fame, St. Cloud Tech Hall of Fame, Minnesota Football Coahes - Butch Nash Award.  He also received numerous community, youth hockey, MAHA service awards, Section Rep and Executive Board Presndent for Section II MN Hockey.  Bill was sometimes referred to as "Godfather of Central MN Hockey" for his long-standing involvement in the Granite City - St. Cloud.  Following retirement Bill continued his involvement with Termite/Mite level beginning hockey programs and served as volunteer coach at: St. Cloud Tech, St. John's University and St. Cloud State.
