1983:  Bill Mahoney was named as the Minnesota North Stars' Head Coach, replacing Murray Oliver.

1984:  The vacant Duluth Curling Club burned down in the early morning hours on this date.  Arson was suspected but no-one was ever convicted of the crime.

1998: Guy Carbonneau tied the game with 1:25 remaining in regulation and Jamie Langenbrunner scored on a slap shot from near center ice at :46 of OT to give the Dallas Stars a 3-2 win over the visiting Red Wings, in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals.

2002:  Minnesota Wild signed free agent left wing Rastislav Pavlikovsky from the Swedish Elite League.
