1960:  Former NHL center Kevin Maxwell born in Edmonton, Alta. Maxwell played in the NHL 1980-81 through 1983-84 with the Minnesota North Stars, the Colorado Rockies and New Jersey.

1964:  Former NHL center Corey Millen born in Cloquet, Minnesota. Millen played in the NHL 1989-90 through 1996-97 with the New York Rangers, Los Angeles, New Jersey, Dallas and Calgary.

1971:  Minnesota's Murray Oliver scored the 200th goal of his NHL career, in a North Stars' 2-1 loss to the visiting Vancouver Canucks.

1981:  Former University of Minnesota centerman - Neal Broten from Roseau, MN signed a tryout contract with the Minnesota North Stars and suited up in his first home game the following day (3-31-1981). Neal finished out the regular season with 3 games before the North Stars made a Cinderella run to the Stanley Cup Final.

1982:  Rookie Neal Broten scored two goals and added two assists, as the North Stars lost 7-5 to the Winnipeg Jets, in Minnesota.

1982:  Winnipeg's Dave Christian scored a goal and added three assists as the Jets beat the North Stars 7-5, at Minnesota.

1983:  Reed Larson became the first defenseman in Detroit Red Wings history to get 50 assists in one season; he reached the mark in a 4-2 loss to the visiting Toronto Maple Leafs.

1985:  The Minnesota Minute Men awarded the Inaugural Minnesota Mr. Hockey Award to Minneapolis Southwest forward - Tom Chorske held at Mr. Hockey Banquet dinner at St. Paul Radisson Hotel

1987:  Dino Ciccarelli scored his 100th point of the season, when he picked up an assist for the North Stars, in a 6-5 loss to the Rangers in Minnesota.  It was the second and final 100 point season of Ciccarelli's career.

1988:  Los Angeles Kings' draft choice Robb Stauber of the University of Minnesota became the first goaltender to win the Hobey Baker Award, as the top U.S. college player.

1989:  NHL defenseman Jonathon Blum born in Long Beach, Calif.  Blum has played in the NHL since 2010-11 with Nashville and Minnesota.

2008:  Minnesota's Marian Gaborik scored twice, including the game-winner at 3:10 of overtime as the Wild won 3-2 against the visiting Colorado Avalanche.  The winning goal was Gaborik's team-record 40th goal and 80th point of the season.

2008:  James Sheppard set a Minnesota Wild team rookie record by playing in his 77th game of the season a 3-2 overtime win over the visiting Colorado Avalanche.  He broke the mark of 76 games set by rookie Pascal Dupuis in 2001-02.

2008:  Brian Rolston became the third player to score 200 points as a member of the Minnesota Wild; he reached the milestone with a goal and an assist in a 3-2 win over visiting Colorado.

2013:  St. Louis Blues acquired defenseman (and Golden Valley, MN native) Jordan Leopold from Buffalo in exchange for a 2nd round pick and conditional 5th round pick in 2013.

2013:  Zach Parise, Mikko Koivu and Matt Cullen all scored in the shootout as the Wild went 3-for-3 for a 4-3 win over the visiting L.A. Kings.

2014:  Hastings, MN native Derek Stepan posted three assists and Cam Talbot recorded his third career shutout as the Rangers beat the Oilers 5-0 in Edmonton, and tied a team record with their 24th road win of the season.

2015:  Minnesota Wild Goaltender, Devan Dubnyk was named the NHL's "First Star of the Last Week".
