1895: Possible 1st game played in Minnesota at Athletic Park (Near Target Center location today in downtown Minneapolis) University of Minnesota is defeated by visiting Winnipeg Victorias by the score of 11-3.

1945:  Montreal became the first NHL team ever to go 10-0-1 in the second game of back-to-back series to start a season when they had a 0-0 tie at Chicago.  Bill Durnan had his 3rd career shutout for the Canadiens and Karakas had his 26th for the Black Hawks.

1966:  Last UMD collegiate game at the Duluth Curling Club was played.

1971:  Minnesota North Stars' Jude Drouin scored a goal to become the first rookie in NHL history to get points in each of his first 15 career games; the record came in a 5-3 loss at Detroit.

1975:  Detroit Red Wings obtained Walt McKechnie from Boston in trade for Earl Anderson, Hank Nowak and third-round pick in the 1975 entry draft.

1978:  Brad Maxwell had three assists as the Minnesota North Stars lost 5-4 to the Maple Leafs at Toronto.

1980:  Tim Young scored a goal and added two assists to lead the Minnesota North Stars to a 6-2 win against the visiting Quebec Nordiques.

1982:  Minnesota North Stars began a team-record 12 game undefeated streak (0-0-1) with a 2-2 tie against the Flames, at Calgary.

1984:  Reed Larson picked up three assists, to become the highest scoring U.S. born player in NHL history, and goaltender Greg Stefan recorded his second career shutout, as the Red Wings won 6-0 over the Black Hawks in Detroit.

1987:  Dino Ciccarelli scored twice to give him 250 career NHL goals and added an assist as the North Stars won 7-3 over the Vancouver Canucks, in Minnesota.

2000:  Shjon Podein scored his first career hat trick as Colorado won 4-2 against the Rangers, at New York.

2001:  Rookie Sylvain Blouin scored his first career NHL goal as the Minnesota Wild handed the Sharks their first loss in 11 road games with a 3-1 victory.

2003:  Jamie Langenbrunner played in his 500th career NHL game, and picked up an assist in a 2-2 Devils' tie at Philadelphia.

2007:  St. Louis rookie David Backes scored two goals to lead the Blues to a 5-3 win over the visiting Minnesota Wild.

2007:  Minnesota's Pavol Demitra tied a team record by scoring a goal in his 5th straight game, a 5-3 loss at St. Louis.

2011:  Boston Bruins acquired acquired Rich Peverley and Boris Valabik from the Atlanta Thrashers in exchange for Mark Stuart and Robbinsdale, MN native Blake Wheeler.

‚Äč2012:  University of Minnesota Gophers Womens Hockey team began a streak of 62 consecutive victories that eventually ended with a 3-2 loss to visiting North Dakota on November 17, 2013.
