1933:  Former Minnesota H.S., Collegiate, Minor Pro, and USA hockey legend John Mayasich born in Eveleth, Minnesota. Mayasich is regarded by many as one of the "Best American born Ice Hockey players of all-time" even though he never played professionally in the NHL. John was a member of the 1956 Winter Olympics team that won the silver medal and the 1960 Olympic team that won the gold medal.

1970:  Toronto Maple Leafs acquired Brian Conacher and Terry O'Malley from the Minnesota North Stars in exchange for Murray Oliver.

1970:  Minnesota North Stars obtained Jude Drouin from the Montreal Canadiens, in exchange for future considerations. The deal was completed three weeks later (June 10) when the Canadiens received Bill Collins.

1973:  Boston traded Fred Stanfield to the Minnesota North Stars in exchange for goaltender Gilles Gilbert.

1974:  Former NHL right winger Andrei Nazarov born in Chelyabinsk, Russia. Nazarov played in the NHL 1993-94 through 2005-06 with San Jose, Tampa Bay, Calgary, Anaheim, Boston, Phoenix and the Minnesota Wild.

1987:  New Jersey traded Jan Ludvig to Buffalo in exchange for Jim Korn.

2008:  Minnesota Wild signed free agent Maxim Noreau.

2009:  Minnesota Wild named Chuck Fletcher as their new General Manager, the second in franchise history. Fletcher replaced Doug Risebrough whose contract was not renewed at the end of the 2008-09 season.

2013:  Defenseman Andy Sutton announced his NHL retirement after 13 NHL seasons with San Jose, Anaheim, Atlanta, Edmonton, Minnesota, NY Islanders and Ottawa.

2015:  Minnesota Wild agreed to terms re-signing Finnish Forward - Michael Keränen to a 1-year, two-way contract.
