1959:  Former NHL center Dave Christian born in Warroad, Minnesota. Christian played in the NHL 1979-80 thru 1993-94 with Winnipeg, Washington, Boston, St. Louis, and Chicago.

1981:  Minnesota North Stars lost to N.Y. Islanders in Game-1 of the Stanley Cup Finals 6-3 on the road at Naussau Coliseum. 

1986:  Minnesota North Stars signed Larry DePalma as a free agent.

2003:  Jean-Sebastien Giguere recorded his second straight shutout while rookie Kurt Sauer and Rob Niedermayer scored shorthanded goals in the Mighty Ducks' 2-0 win at Minnesota, in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals.
