1950: Former NHL goalie Jim Watt born in Duluth, Minnesota. Watt played in the NHL 1973-74 with St. Louis.
1965: Former NHL left winger Tom Martin born in Kelowna, B.C. Martin played in the NHL 1984-85 through 1989-90 with Winnipeg, Hartford and the Minnesota North Stars.
1974: Former NHL goalie Dieter Kochan born in Saskatoon, Sask. Kochan played in the NHL 1999-00 through 2002-03 with Tampa Bay and the Minnesota Wild.
2001: Darby Hendrickson scored 32 seconds into overtime to give Team USA a 4-3 win over Team Canada in the Ice Hockey World Championship Semi-Finals, in Hanover, Germany. It was the first US victory over Canada at a World Championship game since 1985.
2012: Minnesota Wild prospect - Charlie Coyle earned QMJHL Playoff MVP honors; Coyle and fellow Minnesota Wild prospect Zach Phillips lead Saint John to the QMJHL Championship.
