1916:  Former NHL defenseman John Mariucci born in Eveleth, MN. Mariucci played in the NHL 1940-41 through 1947-48 with the Chicago Blackhawks.

1976:  Former NHL left winger Casey Hankinson born in Edina, MN. Hankinson played in the NHL 2000-01 through 2003-04 with Chicago and Anaheim.

1991:  Mike Modano scored a goal and added two assists, and Brian Bellows picked up three assists as the North Stars won 5-1 over the Oilers, at Met Center in Game 4 of the Campbell Conference Finals, to take a 3 games to 1 series lead.

2003:  Down 2-0 in the middle of the second period, the Wild scored 3 goals on 5 shots, 4-2 victory at Vancouver in Game 7 of the West. Conf. Semi-Finals. Wild became the 1st team in NHL history to rally from a 3-1 series deficit twice in the same playoff season.

2003:  Minnesota's Wes Walz became the third player in Stanley Cup history to get 10 straight playoff goals on the road, when he scored twice in a 4-2 victory at Vancouver in Game 7 of the Western Conference Semi-Finals.

2013:  Hastings, MN native Derek Stepan scored the winning goal for the second game in a row as the Rangers beat the visiting Capitals 4-3 in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals.

2013:  The Chicago Steel of the USHL drafted Minneapolis, MN native, and paralyzed hockey player Jack Jablonski in the USHL Draft with their last pick. #BEL13VE
