1977:  Former NHL center Marc Chouinard born in Charlesbourg, Que. Chouinard played in the NHL 2000-01 through 2006-07 with Anaheim, the Minnesota Wild and Vancouver.

1980:  Philadelphia's Bill Barber became just the second player in Stanley Cup history to get three shorthanded goals in on playoff year and added a second goal in a 3-2 win over the North Stars, in Game 4 of the Semi-Finals, at Minnesota.

1991:  Brian Bellows scored two goals and added an assist to lead the Minnesota North Stars to a 7-3 win over the visiting Edmonton Oilers at Met Center, in Game 3 of the Campbell Conference Finals to take a 2 games to 1 lead in the series.

2014:  The Minnesota Wild vs. visiting Chicago Blackhawks playoff game held at the Xcel Energy Center had an announced crowd of 19,416 - The largest crowd in Minnesota Wild history. Where the Minnesota Wild defeated the Blackhawks 4-0 in a second round series.  Ilya Bryzgalov needed just 19 saves for his fourth career playoff shutout (and first in 8 years) as the Wild scored 4 times in the final period for a 4-0 win over the visiting Blackhawks in Game 3 of the Second Round.

2016:  Six current/future members of the Minnesota Wild took part in the 2016 IIHF World Championships that took place (May 6-22) including: Matt Dumba (Canada); Mikael Granlund, Mikko Koivu (Finland); Christoph Bertschy, Nino Niederreiter (Switzerland); and Jordan Schroeder (United States).
