1968:  Former NHL defenseman Randy Skarda born in St. Paul, Minnesota. Skarda played in the NHL 1989-90 through 1991-92 with St. Louis.

1972:  Former NHL defenseman Brad Bombardir born in Powell River, B.C. Bombardir played in the NHL 1997-98 through 2003-04 with New Jersey, the Minnesota Wild and Nashville.

1981:  Rookie Dino Ciccarelli tied a team playoff record with three goals in the North Stars' 7-4 playoff win over Calgary, in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Semi-Finals in Minnesota.

1990:  NHL goaltender Darcy Kuemper born in Saskatoon, Sask. Kuemper has played in the NHL since 2012-13 with Minnesota.

1994:  Tom Chorske scored two goals and added an assist as the Devils beat the Bruins 4-2, at Boston in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals.

2003:  Cliff Ronning scored his first two goals of the playoffs as the Wild set team playoff record with 5 goals in the 2nd period and 7 goals in the game, a 7-2 win against the Canucks at Vancouver, in Game 5 of the Western Conference Semi-Finals.

2010:  Dustin Byfuglien scored the 18th playoff hat trick in Chicago history, but just the 5th on the road as the Blackhawks beat the Canucks 5-2 in Game 3 of the Western Conference Semi-Finals, in Vancouver.

2013:  Jason Zucker scored the first playoff goal of his NHL career 2:15 into overtime to give the Wild a 3-2 win over the visiting Blackhawks in Game 3 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals.
