1962: Former NHL left winger George Servinis born in Toronto, Ont. Servinis played in the NHL 1987-88 with the Minnesota North Stars.
1967: Hockey executive Chuck Fletcher born in Montreal, Quebec; he served as NHL general manager with Florida and the Minnesota Wild starting in 2001-02.
1974: Minnesota North Stars named Jack Gordon as their new head coach.
1980: Steve Christoff scored two goals and an assist in the Minnesota North Stars' 6-5 win against the Flyers in Game 1 of the Semi-Final series, at Philadelphia. The two teams combined to score five goals in a span of 3:20 (2nd-fastest in playoff history).
1987: NHL right wing Dan Sexton born in Apple Valley, MN. Sexton has played in the NHL since 2009-10 with Anaheim.
2003: Minnesota Wild set a team playoff record by allowing just 13 shots in the game, a 3-2 loss to visiting Vancouver in Game 3 of the Western Conference Semifinals.
2010: Minnesota Wild unveiled their 10th Anniversary logo mark.
2017: Bloomington Ice Garden, in Bloomington MN took 1st runner-up in the 3rd annual Kraft Hockeyville USA competition edged by Rostraver Ice Garden in Belle Vernon, PA. For finishing as runner-up, Bloomington was awarded $75,000 for arena upgrades.
