1947:  Former NHL defenseman Nick Beverley born in Toronto, Ont. Beverley played in the NHL 1966-67 through 1979-80 with Boston, Pittsburgh, the Rangers, Minnesota, Los Angeles and the Colorado Rockies. He later worked as GM and coach with the Kings and Toronto.

1970:  Former NHL right winger Doug Barrault born in Golden, B.C. Barrault played in the NHL 1992-93 through 1993-94 with the Minnesota North Stars and Florida.

1974:  The first sellout with a (then record St. Paul Civic Center attendance of 16,412) in Minnesota Fighting Saints history against the visiting Houston Aeros in St. Paul for Game 3 of the WHA semi-finals playoff series.

1985:  Chicago and Minnesota combined to set a Stanley Cup playoff record for fastest five goals (a span of 3:06) during a 6-2 Black Hawks' win over the visiting North Stars, in Game 2 of the Norris Division Finals.

1995:  Minnesota Moose play in their 1st ever playoff game held at Target Center in downtown Minneapolis (vs. usual home-arena in St. Paul Civic Center) in a 4-2 defeat by the Denver Grizzlies.  The loss eliminated the Moose in three straight and Denver went on to capture the leagues Turner Cup Championship of the IHL.

2003:  Minnesota Wild recorded their first home victory in playoff history, with 3-2 over the visiting Colorado Avalanche, in Game 6 of the Western Conference Quarter-Finals. Richard Park had his first 2 career playoff goals, including the winner at 4:22 of OT.

2014:  Minnesota Wild set a franchise record for the most shots in a playoff game with 46.  They also set a franchise record for most shots in a period with 22 (1st period).

2014:  Minnesota's Darcy Kuemper became the 2nd goalie in Stanley Cup history to post a 1-0 overtime win thanks to a 22 save effort in his first playoff start & Mikael Granlund scored his first playoff goal (at 5:08 of OT) for a win over visiting Colorado in Game 3 of the First Round. The win was the first Stanley Cup playoffs shut-out in Minnesota Wild history.
