1953:  Former NHL right winger Alfred Rogers born in Paradise Hills, Sask. Rogers played in the NHL 1973-74 through 1974-75 with the Minnesota North Stars.

1970:  Former NHL defenseman Enrico Ciccone born in Montreal, Que. Ciccone played in the NHL 1991-92 through 2000-01 with the Minnesota North Stars, Washington, Tampa Bay, Chicago, Carolina, Vancouver and the Montreal Canadiens.

1973:  Former NHL right winger Christopher Kenady born in Mound, Minnesota. Kenady played in the NHL 1997-98 through 1999-00 with St. Louis and the New York Rangers.

1974:  Former NHL defenseman Dan Trebil born in Edina, Minnesota. Trebil played in the NHL 1996-97 through 2000-01 with Anaheim, Pittsburgh and St. Louis.

1982:  Dino Ciccarelli scored a hat trick and added an assist to lead the Minnesota North Stars to a 7-1 playoff win at Chicago, in Game 3 of the Norris Division Semi-Finals.

1982:  Minnesota North Stars' Bobby Smith tied team playoff records with four assists and five points in a 7-1 playoff win at Chicago, in Game 3 of the Norris Division Semi-Finals.

1983:  Craig Hartsburg had three assists and Dino Ciccarelli scored the winner at 8:05 of OT to lead the Minnesota North Stars to a 5-4 win over the Maple Leafs in Game 4 of the Norris Division Semi-Finals, at Toronto.

1986:  Dennis Maruk scored twice and added two assists in the North Stars' 6-2 win against the St. Louis Blues in Game Two of the Norris Division Semi-Finals, in Minnesota.

1991:  Minnesota's Don Barber scored two goals and added an assist to lead the North Stars to a 3-1 win against the visiting Chicago Blackhawks, in Game 4 of the Norris Division Semi-Finals.

1993:  Final victory in Minnesota North Stars history; a 4-3 win over the St. Louis Blues at Met Center.

1998:   The State of Minnesota agreed in legislation to fund $65 million of the $130 million project costs for Xcel Energy Center in Saint Paul.

2002:  Marian Gaborik became the first player in Minnesota Wild history to score 30 goals and Jim Dowd and Andrew Brunette scored 21 seconds apart midway through the third period as the Wild came back from three goals down to tie the Stars 4-4 in Dallas.

2002:  Marian Gaborik had a goal and an assist to become the first player to score 100 points as a member of the Minnesota Wild; he reached the milestone in a 4-4 tie at Dallas.

2003:  Minnesota Wild picked up a victory in their first playoff game in team history, 4-2 at Colorado, in Game 1 of the Western Conference Quarter-Finals. Dwayne Roloson had 39 saves and the Wild scored three goals in a span of 4:22 in the 2nd period.

2004:  Islanders' Rick DiPietro recorded his first career playoff shutout, and Jason Blake scored his first two career playoff goals as New York won 3-0 against the Lightning at Tampa Bay, in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Quarter-Finals.

2009:  Niklas Backstrom became the first goalie in Minnesota Wild history to start 20 consecutive games and the team set a record with four goals by defenseman in an 8-4 win over the visiting Nashville Predators.

2010:  Boston Bruins set an NHL record when Daniel Paille, Blake Wheeler and Steve Begin each scored a shorthanded goal in a span of 1:04 early in the second period in a 4-2 win over the visiting Hurricanes.

2010:  Edmonton rookie Devan Dubnyk made 52 saves in regulation and Tom Gilbert had a shorthanded goal and two assists to lead the Oilers to a 4-3 shootout victory in Los Angeles.

2010:  At the conclusion of the Dallas Stars vs. Minnesota Wild 4-3 shootout defeat in St. Paul, MN former Minnesota North Stars draftee and player - Mike Modano acknowledged the crowd after skating onto the ice in a #9 Minnesota North Stars jersey to a standing ovation crowd at Xcel Energy Center.

2012:  Minnesota Wild awarded the 7th overall pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

2014:  Shorewood, MN native John Curry became the first native of Minnesota to play in net for the Wild and made 43 saves to help the team to a 4-2 win over the visiting St. Louis Blues.  The win gave the Wild 98 points for the season, tying a franchise record.

2014:  Rookie Nick Bjugstad (a native of Minneapolis, MN) scored three points in a game for the first time in his NHL career, with two goals and an assist in a 4-2 win over the visiting Maple Leafs.
