1967:  Minnesota North Stars hosted the Boston Bruins for the first time in team history, and won 5-4 at the Met Center.  The North Stars set a team record for fastest 3 goals when Bill Goldsworthy, Bill Masterton and J.P. Parise combined to score in a span of 3:40.

1969:  Gerry Desjardins was in goal for the L.A. Kings' first shutout ever against Minnesota, a 0-0 tie against the visiting North Stars.  Fern Rivard picked up the shutout for Minnesota for the clubs' first scoreless game.

1976:  Tim Young and Roland Eriksson each had three assists as the Minnesota North Stars tied 5-5 with the Canadiens at Montreal.

1976:  Former NHL defenseman David Cullen born in St. Catharines, Ont.  Cullen played in the NHL 2000-01 through 2001-02 with Phoenix and the Minnesota Wild.

1980:  Tom McCarthy scored a goal and added two assists to lead the North Stars to a 6-5 win over the Flyers in Minnesota.

1981:  Quebec Nordiques traded Robbie Ftorek to the NY Rangers in exchange for Jere Gillis and Dean Talafous (later changed to Pat Hickey - trade on 3/8/82 - when Talafous decided to retire).  

1981:  Dean Talafous officially announced his NHL retirement after eight seasons with the Florida Panthers, Minnesota North Stars and NY Rangers.

1987:  Minnesota's Brian Bellows scored three goals (for his second career hat trick) and added an assist, and Dino Ciccarelli had a goal and three assists to lead the North Stars to a 6-4 win against the Blackhawks, at Chicago.

1987:  Minnesota's Dennis Maruk scored his 350th NHL career goal, and had an assist as the North Stars won 6-4, at Chicago.

1991:  Winnipeg Jets traded Warren Rychel to the Minnesota North Stars in exchange for Tony Joseph.

2003:  Despite being outshot 40-18 by the Oilers, Manny Fernandez made 38 saves to lead the Wild to a 2-2 tie at Edmonton.

2008:  Zach Parise scored his 20th goal of the season (for the third straight consecutive year) coming on New Jersey's first shot on net, at 1:02 into the game, then added another goal as the Devils beat the Blues 4-3 in St. Louis.

2009:  Wild announced that five players would represent the team in the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver:  Niklas Backstrom, Mikko Koivu and Antti Miettinen (Finland) and Martin Havlat and Marek Zidlicky (Czech Republic).

2010:  The University of Minnesota Duluth new home ice arena; Amsoil Arena opened in a game vs. UND.

2011:  Benilde St. Margaret Sophomore, Jack 'Jabby' Jablonski, was chasing a puck behind the goal line when a check from behind sent him head first into the boards.  His injury was severe: two broken vertebra and a severed spinal cord.  Months later, the Jack Jablonki fund was created.  Jack's tragic incident birthed Jack’s Pledge, a grass-roots program aimed at enhancing safety in the game of hockey and forever changed the game of hockey in MN, and nationally. #BEL13VE

2014:  Florida Panthers re-sign Blaine, MN native Centermen Nick Bjugstad to a 6-year $24.6 Million extension worth $4.1 Million per season.

2014:  Edmonton Oilers Forward - Blaine, MN native Matt Hendricks had 1 goal to earn the #3 Star of the Night in the Oilers 3-2 shoot-out win over the L.A. Kings.
