1966:  Former NHL defenseman Todd Richards born in Robbindale, MN.  Richards played in the NHL 1990-91 through 1991-92 with Hartford.  He later coached with San Jose Sharks, Minnesota Wild and Columbus BlueJackets.

1971:  Cesare Maniago recorded his 17th career shutout and the Minnesota North Stars set a team record with 57 shots in a 7-0 win over Vancouver at the Met Center.  Doug Mohns and Jude Drouin each scored a goal and added three assists.

1973:  J.P. Parise scored two goals and added an assist to lead the Minnesota North Stars to a 4-4 tie with St. Louis, at the Met Center.

1976:  Bill Hogaboam had three assists to lead the Minnesota North Stars to a 4-3 win over the Atlanta Flames at the Met Center.

1977:  Roland Eriksson set a Minnesota North Stars' franchise record for fastest goal from the start of a game, when he scored just :12 into a 7-4 loss to the visiting Cleveland Barons.

1978:  Former NHL defenseman Mike Farrell born in Edina, MN.  Farrell played in the NHL 2001-02 through 2003-04 with Washington and Nashville.

1979:  The US Hockey Hall of Fame enshrined it's seventh-year members since opening in 1973 on this date in Eveleth, MN.  Inducted were:  Coach: John Riley Jr. Player: Robert Dill.

1983:  Vancouver traded Lars Lindgren to the Minnesota North Stars in exchange for Minnesota's 3rd round choice (Landis Chaulk) in the 1984 Entry Draft.

1983:  Brian Bellows scored twice and added two assists, as the Minnesota North Stars lost 5-4 to the visiting Montreal Canadiens.

2000:  Matt Johnson scored his first goal as a member of the Wild when Minnesota lost 3-1 against the visiting San Jose Sharks.

2001:  Ben Clymer scored twice for the first multi-goal game of his NHL career, and Brad Richards tied a career-high with three assists as the Lightning won 5-2 against the visiting New York Rangers.

2007:  Mikko Koivu took 9 shots on goal for the Wild, but went scoreless in a 3-1 win at St. Louis.

2009:  Minnesota Wild named Mikko Koivu as the first permanent captain in franchise history.

2011:  Minnesota's Dany Heatley set a team record for latest goal in regulation, when he scored with 1.2 seconds left in regulation to tie the game and Matt Cullen scored the shootout winner in a 2-1 victory at Edmonton.

2011:  Defenseman Ryan McDonagh scored with two seconds remaining in overtime to give the Rangers a 3-2 win at Calgary.

2019:  After beginning the new 2019-20 Minnesota Wild season with a 1-6 season start - Wild returned home from a short Canadian tour to Xcel Energy Center in a come from behind 4-3 win vs. the visiting Montreal Canadiens.  Xcel Energy Center welcomed its 15 millionth fan through the doors with a special occasion 15,000,000 #19 jersey issued by mascot Nordy to lucky fans.  Sadly, the game also marked the first non-sellout lasting 251 straight games [230 regular season and 21 straight playoffs] since December 5, 2013 with announced 17,344 fans in attendance.
