1925: Former NHL coach and general manager Wren Blair born in Lindsay, Ontario. Blair served as Coach and General Manager with the Minnesota North Stars starting in 1967-68.
1957: Former NHL defenseman Gordie Roberts born in Detroit, Michigan. Roberts played in the NHL 1979-80 thru 1993-94 with Hartford, the Minnesota North Stars, Philadelphia, St. Louis, Pittsburgh and Boston, and later became an assistant coach with Phoenix.
1968: Former NHL defenseman Link Gaetz born in Vancouver, B.C. Gaetz played in the NHL 1988-89 through 1991-92 with San Jose and the Minnesota North Stars.
1978: The Minnesota North Stars faced off against their NHL counterparts in fall exhibition games vs the WHA in games played from 72-78. The North Stars-2 vs. Edmonton Oilers-4 was played on this date.
1979: Minnesota North Stars signed goaltender Jean-Louis Levasseur as a free agent.
1986: NHL defenseman Stu Bickel born in Chanhassen, MN. Bickel has played in the NHL since 2011-12 with New York Rangers and Minnesota.
1989: Minnesota North Stars claimed David Mackey from Chicago in the NHL Waiver Draft.
1991: Ahead of the Minnesota North Stars 1991-1992 season, select member of the media and season ticket holders were invited to Met Center at 6:00PM to see the North Stars practice, followed by an autograph signing where the newly designed North Stars jerseys were also unveiled to the public - now known as infamous "Norm Stars" uniforms.
1995: St. Louis Blues acquired Paul Broten from Dallas in exchange for Guy Carbonneau.
1997: Matt Majka named Head of Retail Operation for newly appointed Minnesota Hockey Ventures Group, LP NHL expansion team (Minnesota Wild).
1999: Tampa Bay Lightning signed Ben Clymer as a free agent.
2010: Minnesota Wild signed free agent goaltender Jose Theodore.
2014: Minnesota Wild claimed Elk River, MN native and former Wild defenseman - Nate Prosser from St. Louis Blues in the NHL's annual waiver one day after he was assigned to Chicago (AHL) by the Blues.
