1965:  Former NHL center Cliff Ronning born in Vancouver, B.C.  Ronning played in the NHL 1985-86 through 2003-04 with St. Louis, Vancouver, Phoenix, Nashville, Los Angeles, the Minnesota Wild and the New York Islanders.

1967:  The expansion Minnesota North Stars record dropped to 7-3-0 in their first NHL preseason, after a 3-2 loss to the Oakland Seals, in a game played at Port Huron, Michigan.

1968:  Pittsburgh Penguins acquired defenseman Bob Woytowich from the Minnesota North Stars, in exchange for Pittsburgh's first choice in the 1972 draft.

1969:  As part of the first Hockey Hall of Fame Museums dedication in Eveleth, MN celebrating Eveleth's role in the sport of hockey.  A professional hockey game, between the Minnesota North Stars and the St. Louis Blues was played at the Eveleth Hippodrome to kick-off formal fund raising activities for future US Hockey Hall of Fame Museum in Eveleth.  St. Louis defeated the home-state North Stars 2-0.

1971:  Minnesota North Stars claimed Craig Cameron from St. Louis on waivers.

1972:  The WHA Minnesota Fighting Saints played their first exhibition pre-season game at Duluth Arena in Duluth, MN (Future DECC Arena) vs. the Winnipeg Jets. Seven Saints players scored in the 7-5 win in the aired game on WLOL-AM with braodcaster Frank Buetel making his debut as radio announcer. 

1974:  Minnesota North Stars traded defenseman Gary Bergman to Detroit, in exchange for the Red Wings' 3rd choice (Alex Pirus) in 1975 Amateur Draft.

1975:  Bemidji State University hockey Fieldhouse was renamed to the John Glas Fieldhouse.

1977:  Pittsburgh Penguins traded defenseman Don Awrey to the Washington Capitals in exchange for Bob Paradise.

1977:  The Minnesota North Stars faced off against their NHL counterparts in fall exhibition games vs the WHA in games played from 72-78.  The North Stars-3 vs. Winnipeg Jets-4 was played on this date.

1978:  The Minnesota North Stars faced off against their NHL counterparts in fall exhibition games vs the WHA in games played from 72-78.  The North Stars-2 vs. Quebec Nordiques-5 was played on this date.

1982:  New Jersey Devils signed Calumet, MN native - Mike Antonovich as a free agent.

1982:  Minnesota North Stars traded Mark Johnson and Kent-Erik Andersson to the Hartford Whalers for Jordy Douglas and Whalers’ 5th round pick in 1984 Entry Draft.

1990:  Quebec Nordiques claimed Shawn Anderson from Washington, Wayne Van Dorp from Chicago and Aaron Broten from the Minnesota North Stars in the NHL's annual Waiver Draft.

1994:  Minnesota Moose forward Blair Atecheynum scores the clubs first goal in franchise history in the teams first game in a 4-1 loss on the road in Denver, Colorado vs. Denver Grizzlies.  The lone Moose goal came at 19:58 of the 2nd period, assisted by John Young & Ross Wilson.  In other Moose firsts, Goaltender Tom Draper was in net for 1st franchise loss, Reed Larson had the 1st penalty coming at 7:00 of first period for holding.

2000:  The Minnesota Wild's second home game in franchise history took place on this date in a pre-season match-up vs. the Chicago Blackhawks playing to a 1-1 OT tie at the newly opened Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, MN. 

2014:  Warroad High School re-dedication ceremony of the Warroad Warrior logo and name took place at 2:00PM within the Warroad high school gymnasium following a battle with the National Coalition against racism in sports and media. Warroad, MN native, and Minnesota hockey legend - Henry Boucha was a key part of the lobbying for the name and logo living on forever in Warroad, including numerous social media fans posting in favor of the logo remaining in storied Warroad.

2014:  St. Louis Blues assigned Minnesota natives - Nate Prosser (Elk River), and Peter Mueller (Bloomington) to Chicago of the (AHL).

2014:  Prior Lake, MN native Jordan Schroeder cleared waivers and was assigned to Iowa Wild (AHL) from the Minnesota Wild.

2015:  Minnesota Wild claimed forward - Chris Porter from Philadelphia Flyers in the NHL annual waiver wire.
