1950:  Former NHL left winger Per-Olov Brasar born in Falun, Sweden.  Brasar played in the NHL 1977-78 through 1981-82 with the Minnesota North Stars and Vancouver.

1967:  The expansion Minnesota North Stars improved to 7-2-0 in their first NHL preseason, after a 6-1 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins, in a game played at Oshawa, Ontario.

1983:  Minnesota North Stars traded Fred Barrett to Los Angeles in exchange for future considerations.  At the time of his trade, Barrett was the North Stars club holder for most games played by a North Star: (730 games).

1990:  Minnesota North Stars obtained Peter Taglianetti from the Winnipeg Jets in exchange for future considerations.

1998:  Minnesota Wild hosts the largest crowd ever for an NHL pre-season game in the state of Minnesota with 18,294 tickets sold for the 'U S West Face-Off 1998' game between the Phoenix Coyotes and the Dallas Stars at Target Center in downtown Minneapolis.  Neal Broten dropped the ceremonial puck between the Stars Mike Modano and the Coyotes Jeremy Roenick.

2003:  Minnesota Wild signed free agent Alexandre Daigle.

2009:  Minnesota Wild signed free agent Andy Hilbert.

2014:  The Minnesota Wild placed defenseman Jon Blum and Justin Falk on waivers, along with forward Joel Rechlicz.

2014:  NY Islanders forward Kyle Okposo (St. Paul, MN native) went 1-1-2 and was named the #2 star in a 5-3 pre-season win over Boston.

2015:  Minnesota Wild AHL affiliate - Iowa Wild announced Brent Flahr as new team General Manager.
