1925:  Former NHL right winger Clarence Schmidt born in Williams, MN.  Schmidt played in the NHL 1943-44 with Boston.

1967:  The expansion Minnesota North Stars played their first NHL preseason game in team history, a 3-1 victory over the Oakland Seals, at a game played at the newly opened McMorran Sports Arena in Port Huron, Michigan.  The lone Seals goal was scored by future North Star - J.P. Parise who was claimed by Seals from Boston and took part only in training camp with Oakland.  Parise was later traded to Toronto Maple Leafs before joining North Stars in December of 1967.

1976:  Former NHL goalie Zac Bierk born in Peterborough, Ont.  Bierk played in the NHL 1997-98 through 2003-04 with Tampa Bay, the Minnesota Wild and Phoenix.

1979:  Minnesota North Stars signed Tony White as a free agent.

1991:  The Minnesota North Stars faced off in a pre-season game donning the new Norm ST☆RS uniforms vs. visiting Winnipeg Jets held at St. Paul Civic Center.  Prior to the game at 7:05 p.m., the North Stars held a Minnesota Fighting Saints reunion that began at 5 p.m. prior to the contest in which players shared memories of their time in St. Paul and an autograph signing ensued for fans. 

1999:  Minnesota Wild purchases historic Minnesota Club building to house the club's business offices – located behind Xcel Energy Center near historic Rice Park.

2009:  Minnesota Wild signed free agent Petr Sykora.
