1972:  The US Hockey Hall of Fame Museum in Eveleth, MN nine man selection committee met in Boston and chose the inaugural induction twenty-five member enshrinees class.

1994:  The Minnesota Moose broadcast package was finalized as KFAN-AM, and KJJO-AM were announced as the newly formed IHL teams' radio partners.

1995:  The crew at Christian Bros. Hockey Sticks in Warroad, MN built a 107 ft. stick of white and yellow aspen with a finished weight of 7,000lbs.  On this date the 'Big Stick' was dedicated, with much fanfare as part of the USHHoF 1995 dedication ceremony, to the hockey players of the past, present, and future, and to the spirit of hockey in Eveleth, MN. (Two days prior on Sept. 14th, 1995 the stick was moved into it's position).

1995:  The U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame inducted it's 1995 class inductees including:  Warroad, MN native - Henry Boucha, James Claypool and Ken Morrow.  The induction was held at 2:00p.m. following the 'Big Stick' dedication ceremony at 12:00 downtown featuring Herb Brooks as a guest speaker.

2009:  Veteran defenseman Bret Hedican announced his retirement after 17 NHL seasons with St. Louis, Vancouver, Florida, Carolina and Anaheim, highlited by a Stanley Cup Championship with the Hurricanes in 2006.

2014:  Bill Daly and Paul Holmgren were named recipients of the 2014 Lester Patrick trophy for outstanding service to hockey in the United States. Holmgren, a St. Paul, MN native, former Gopher Hockey alumnus, Minnesota Fighting Saint and Minnesota North Stars right winger.  The recipients were honored as part of the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and dinner on Thursday December 4th, in Minneapolis. 

2015:  N.Y. Islanders agreed to terms with restricted free agent forward (Warroad, MN native) Brock Nelson on a 3-year $7.5 million contract.
