1985:  NHL Hockey Hall of Fame inducted its newest members: Gerry Cheevers, Bert Olmstead, Jean Ratelle, John Mariucci and Rudy Pilous.

1994:  The IHL expansion Minnesota Moose opened their inaugural training camp with 35 players in uniform.

1994:  The San Jose Sharks faced off in an NHL pre-season 'home' game vs. St. Louis Blues in a game held at St. Paul Civic Center in St. Paul, MN.  3 former Minnesota North Stars players in Ulf Dahlen, Gaetan Duchesne and Todd Elik played for the Sharks ending in a 2-2 tie. 

2000:  The first sheet of ice is laid down in the Minnesota Wild's newly erected home rink, the Xcel Energy Center.

2005:  Trent Klatt officially announced his retirement after 13 NHL seasons with the Minnesota North Stars, Dallas Stars, Philadelphia, Vancouver and Los Angeles.

2015:  Boston Bruins hired former NHL right wing, and Cloquet, MN native - Jamie Langenbrunner as Player Development Coach.
