1956: Former NHL center Glen Sharpley born in York, Ont. Sharpley played in the NHL 1976-77 through 1981-82 with the Minnesota North Stars and Chicago.
1964: Former NHL right winger Todd Okerlund born in Burnsville, MN. Okerlund played in the NHL 1987-88 with the New York Islanders.
1971: Former NHL left winger Pavel Patera born in Kladno, Czech. Patera played in the NHL 1999-00 through 2000-01 with Dallas and the Minnesota Wild.
1978: Free agent Mike Polich of Montreal signed with the Minnesota North Stars. Jerry Engele was awarded to the Canadiens as compensation.
1984: Former NHL center Danny Irmen born in Fargo, N.D. Irmen played in the NHL in 2009-10 with the Minnesota Wild.
1990: Minnesota North Stars traded Daniel Berthiaume to the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for Craig Duncanson.
1994: The newly formed Minnesota Moose of the IHL surpassed 2,000 season tickets sold prior to a game even being played.
2007: The Minnesota Wild unveiled its new RBK Edge jerseys as part of the NHL's uniform overhaul set to begin in 2007-08.
