1956:  Former NHL defenseman Reed Larson born in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  Larson played in the NHL 1976-77 through 1989-90 with Detroit, Boston, Edmonton, the New York Islanders and the Minnesota North Stars.

1957:  Former NHL goalie Markus Mattsson born in Suoneiemi, Finland.  Mattsson played in the NHL 1979-80 through 1983-84 with Winnipeg, the Minnesota North Stars and Los Angeles.

1983:  Minnesota North Stars signed Richie Hansen as a free agent.

1985:  NHL defenseman Alex Goligoski born in Grand Rapids, MN.  Goligoski has played in the NHL since 2007-08 with Pittsburgh, Dallas, Arizona, and Minnesota Wild.

2004:  Edmonton Oilers signed free agent Toby Petersen.

2005:  Minnesota Wild acquired center Todd White from the Ottawa Senators for a 2005 fourth-round pick (Cody Bass).

2013:  Minnesota Wild Defenseman - Tyler Cuma re-signed to a one-year, two-way contract.

2014:  St. Louis Blues announced the signing of free agent (and Bloomington, MN native) Peter Mueller.
