1966:  Former NHL left winger David Mackey born in Richmond, B.C.  Mackey played in the NHL 1987-88 through 1993-94 with Chicago, the Minnesota North Stars and St. Louis.

1975:  NHL center Jamie Langenbrunner born in Duluth, MN.  Langenbrunner has played in the NHL since 1994-95 with Dallas and New Jersey.

1989:  NHL center Cody Almond born in Calgary, Alta.  Almond has played in the NHL since 2009-10 with the Minnesota Wild.

1997:  Mike Ramsey began his NHL coaching career when he was named as assistant coach of the Buffalo Sabres.

2000:  Minnesota Wild signed free agent J.J. Daigneault, a 15-year NHL veteran.

2000:  Minnesota Wild named Mario Tremblay and Mike Ramsey as their new assistant coaches. The move came two months before the team opened its first training camp.

2002:  Los Angeles Kings acquired forward Erik Rasmussen from the Buffalo Sabres for forward Adam Mair and a 2003 fifth-round draft choice.

2015:  Nashville Predators signed Saint Paul, MN native defenseman - Jack Dougherty to an entry-level contract.
