1960:  Former NHL defenseman Jay Caufield born in Philadelphia, Penn.  Caufield played in the NHL 1986-87 through 1992-93 with the New York Rangers, the Minnesota North Stars and Pittsburgh.

1977:  Former NHL right winger Josh Langfeld born in Fridley, MN.  Langfeld played in the NHL 2001-02 through 2007-08 with Ottawa, San Jose, Boston, Detroit and Nashville.

1978:  New York Rangers signed free agent Dean Talafous.

1981:  New York Rangers signed Mark Pavelich as a free agent.

1992:  NHL center Nick Bjugstad born in Minneapolis, MN.  Bjugstad has played in the NHL since 2012-13 with Florida Panthers.

1995:  The Minnesota Moose announce that they will play a partial schedule at Target Center in downtown Minneapolis because of scheduling conflicts at St. Paul Civic Center for their second season (1995-1996).

1998:  Chris Hansen named General Manager of the new Xcel Energy Center for Minnesota Wild.

2006:  Minnesota Wild signed free agent forward Jason Morgan.

2007:  Carolina Hurricanes obtained Matt Cullen from the New York Rangers, in exchange for Andrew Hutchinson, Joe Barnes and a 3rd round pick in 2008.

2009:  Minnesota Wild signed free agents Jon DiSalvatore and Wade Dubielewicz.

2012:  Minnesota Wild Defenseman - Matthew Dumba signed a three-year, entry level contract with the franchise.

2012:  Eden Prairie, MN native Jason Clark (LW/C) agreed to terms on a three-year entry-level contract with the New York Islanders.
