1932: Former NHL defenseman Jean-Guy Talbot born in Cap Madelaine, Que. Talbot played in the NHL 1954-55 through 1970-71 with Montreal, the Minnesota North Stars, Detroit, St. Louis and Buffalo. He later coached the Blues and Rangers.
1950: Former NHL right winger Terry Holbrook born in Petrolia, Ontario. Holbrook played in the NHL 1972-73 through 1973-74 with the Minnesota North Stars.
1962: Former NHL left winger Gaetan Duchesne born in Les Saulles, Que. Duchesne played in the NHL 1981-82 thru 1994-95 with Washington, Quebec, the Minnesota North Stars, San Jose and Florida.
1971: Former NHL defenseman Brett Hauer born in Richfield, MN. Hauer played in the NHL 1995-96 through 2001-02 with Edmonton and Nashville.
1989: Minnesota North Stars signed free agent Gary Emmons.
2000: Minnesota Wild signed free agent Christian Matte, who had been with Colorado.
2008: Minnesota Wild traded defenseman Shawn Belle to Montreal for center Corey Locke and signed free agent Krys Kolanos.
2012: USA Hockey and the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame in Eveleth, MN announced the 2012 class of newly inducted members including: Louis 'Lou' Lamoriello, Edward Walter 'Eddie' Olczyk and former Minnesota North Stars center Mike Modano.
2014: The Minnesota Wild signed former University of Minnesota standout center & Prior Lake, MN native unrestricted free agent Jordan Schroeder to a 2-year, two-way contract.
2015: Minnesota Wild re-signed defenseman Christian Folin a two-year contract.
2016: Minnesota Wild re-signed defenseman Zach Palmquist to a one-year, two-way contract.
