1936:  Former NHL left winger Andre Pronovost born in Shawinigan Falls, Que.  Pronovost played in the NHL 1956-57 through 1967-68 with Montreal, Boston, Detroit and the Minnesota North Stars.

1963:  The NHL's Boston Bruins announced that they allied themselves with three Minneapolis business and professional men and together they operated the newly formed Minneapolis Bruins top farm team of the C.P.H.L. beginning with the 1963-1964 season beginning on October 12, 1963 at Minneapolis Arena.  The announcement ended a drought of 13 years Minneapolis had gone without a professional team when the Minneapolis Millers last played in the 1950's.

1975:  Montreal Canadiens traded winger Glen Sather to the Minnesota North Stars in exchange for cash and a future 3rd round draft choice (Alain Cote).

2001:  Minnesota Wild signed free agent goaltender Martin Brochu.

2002:  Minnesota Wild signed free agent right wing Tony Tuzzolino.

2011:  Minnesota Wild signed free agent defenseman Mike Lundin, a native of Burnsville, Minnesota.
