1974:  Former NHL left winger Matt Henderson born in White Bear Lake, MN.  Henderson played in the NHL 1998-99 through 2001-02 with Nashville and Chicago.

1980:  NHL goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov born in Togliatti, USSR. Bryzgalov has played in the NHL since 2001-02 with Anaheim, Phoenix, Philadelphia, Edmonton, Minnesota Wild and Anaheim.

1985:  NHL center Darroll Powe born in Saskatoon, Sask. Powe has played in the NHL since 2008-09 with Philadelphia, Minnesota, and New York Rangers.

1991:  Los Angeles Kings traded Todd Elik to the Minnesota North Stars in exchange for Charlie Huddy, Randy Gilhen, and Jim Thomson.

1991:  Minnesota North Stars traded David Babych to Vancouver in exchange for Tom Kurvers.

1991:  New York Islanders traded Craig Ludwig to the Minnesota North Stars in exchange for Tom Kurvers.

1995:  Neal Broten tied a New Jersey playoff record with his 3rd game winning goal of the1995 playoffs and Stephane Richer tied a team record with his 20th point as the Devils beat the visiting Red Wings 5-2  to take a 3-0 lead in the Stanley Cup Final.

2001:  Ottawa Senators named Don Jackson as assistant coach.

2002:  Calgary Flames acquired goaltender Jamie McLennan from the Minnesota Wild, in exchange for a 2002 9th round draft pick (Mika Hannula).

2002:  Minnesota Wild acquired veteran Cliff Ronning from the Los Angeles Kings, in exchange for a 2002 8th round draft pick (Aaron Rome).

2010:  Hockey Hall of Fame announced it's newest members: Dino Ciccarelli, Cammi Granato, Angela James as Players, Jimmy Devallano and Daryl 'Doc' Seman as Builders.

2012:  Minnesota Wild selected Defenseman - Matthew Dumba as the seventh overall pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
