1949: Former NHL goalie Louis Levasseur born in Noranda, Quebec. Levasseur played in the NHL 1979-80 with the Minnesota North Stars.
1954: Former NHL left winger Tony White born in Grand Falls, Newfoundland. White played in the NHL 1974-75 through 1979-80 with Washington and the Minnesota North Stars.
1968: Former NHL defenseman Dean Kolstad born in Edmonton, Alta. Kolstad played in the NHL 1988-89 thru 1992-93 with the Minnesota North Stars and San Jose.
1985: Former NHL defenseman Zach Fitzgerald born in Two Harbors, MN. Fitzgerald played in the NHL 2007-08 with Vancouver Canucks.
1989: Lou Nanne won the Lester Patrick Award for outstanding service to hockey.
1990: Buffalo Sabres traded Phil Housley, Scott Arniel Jeff Parker and a first round draft pick (Keith Tkachuk) to the Winnipeg Jets in exchange for Dale Hawerchuk and a first round draft pick (Brad May).
2007: Minnesota Wild signed free agent defenseman Andre Lakos.
2009: Plymouth Minnesota native, and former University of Minnesota captain; Todd Richards was named the Minnesota Wilds second Head Coach in the clubs franchise history. Richards led the Wild to a 38-36-8 record in 2009-10 and a 39-35-8 mark in 2010-11.
2011: Minnesota Wild acquired center David McIntyre from the New Jersey Devils in exchange for defenseman Maxim Noreau.
