1960:  Former NHL defenseman Dan Mandich born in Brantford, Ontario.  Mandich played in the NHL 1982-83 through 1985-86 with the Minnesota North Stars.

1968:  New York Rangers obtained Dave Balon from the Minnesota North Stars in exchange for Wayne Hillman, Joey Johnston and Dan Seguin.

1968:  Minnesota North Stars claimed Duane Rupp from Toronto and goaltender Fern Rivard from Philadelphia in the Intra-League draft.

1968:  New York Rangers claimed Larry Hillman from Toronto in Intra–League draft; then the Minnesota North Stars claimed Hillman from the Rangers in Intra-League draft.

1973:  Minnesota North Stars claimed Bill Plager from Atlanta in the Intra-League draft.

1979:  The NHL Awards Luncheon Bryan Trottier won the Hart Trophy, Montreal's Bob Gainey won the Selke, Minnesota's Bobby Smith won the Calder and Atlanta's Bob MacMillan won the Lady Byng.

1987:  Chicago Blackhawks signed free agent goalie Bob Mason.

1990:  Minneapolis, MN native - Bob "Badger" Johnson was named as the Pittsburgh Penguins new Head Coach.  Scotty Bowman was named as Director of Player Development and Recruitment.

2000:  Minnesota Wild acquired goaltender Manny Fernandez and defenseman Brad Lukowich from the Dallas Stars in exchange for a 2000 third-round pick (Joel Lundqvist) and a 2002 fourth-round pick (that was later traded to L.A.).

2000:  Minnesota Wild acquired defenseman Andy Sutton, a 2001 third-round pick and a 2000 seventh-round pick (Peter Bartos) from the San Jose Sharks in exchange for a 2001 eighth-round pick and future considerations.

2013:  Minnesota Wild forward - Stephane Veilleux re-signed to a two-year, two-way contract.
