1969:  Minnesota North Stars claimed Charlie Burns from Pittsburgh in the Intra-League draft.

1969:  Former NHL center Kip Miller born in Lansing, Mich.  Miller played in the NHL 1990-91 through 2003-04 with Quebec, the Minnesota North Stars, San Jose, the New York Islanders, Chicago, the Pittsburgh Penguins, Anaheim and Washington.

1980:  NHL Hockey Hall of Fame named it's newest members: Harry Lumley, Lynn Patrick and former Minnesota North Star goaltender - Gump Worsley, who was working as a North Stars scout at the time.

1988:  In the NHL Entry draft held in Montreal, the Minnesota North Stars used the #1 overall pick to select Mike Modano.
