1949: Former NHL defenseman Dennis O'Brien born in Port Hope, Ontario. O'Brien played in the NHL 1970-71 through 1979-80 with the Minnesota North Stars, the Colorado Rockies, Cleveland and Boston.
1956: Former NHL center Mike Eaves born in Denver, Colorado. Eaves played in the NHL 1978-79 through 1985-86 with the Minnesota North Stars and Calgary. He later worked as assistant coach with Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.
1968: Minnesota North Stars obtained Danny Grant and Claude Larose from Montreal in exchange for a 1st choice in the 1972 Entry Draft (Dave Gardner) and future considerations (Marshall Johnston).
1969: Minnesota North Stars claimed Darryl Sly from Vancouver (WHL) in Intra–League draft.
1970: Montreal Canadiens traded Bobby Rousseau to the Minnesota North Stars in exchange for Claude Larose and obtained Bill Collins from Minnesota to complete an earlier trade for Jude Drouin.
1973: Minnesota North Stars claimed goaltender Lyle Carter from California in the NHL Reverse Draft.
1979: St. Louis Blues obtained Richie Hansen and Bryan Maxwell from the Minnesota North Stars in trade for a future second round draft pick.
1979: New York Islanders signed Jean Potvin as a free agent, and transferred Richie Hansen to the Minnesota North Stars as compensation.
1987: St. Louis Blues named Joe Micheletti as their new Assistant Coach.
2008: Minnesota Wild acquired defenseman Marc-Andre Bergeron from the Anaheim Ducks, in exchange for a third-round pick (Brandon McMillan) in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
