1966:  Goaltender Ed Johnston recorded his 11th career shutout, and Tom Williams picked up two assists to lead the Bruins to a 2-0 win over the Canadiens, in Boston.

1975:  St. Louis Blues traded Ace Bailey along with Stan Gilbertson to Washington, in exchange for Denis Dupere.

1978:  Lou Nanne retired from NHL hockey as a player, and took over as the Minnesota North Stars' General Manager and Coach, replacing GM Jack Gordon and Coach Andre Beaulieu.

1980:  Al MacAdam scored two goals and an assist, and Bobby Smith had a goal and two assists in the Minnesota North Stars' 6-2 win over the Whalers at Hartford.

1983:  Minnesota and the Rangers combined to score the fastest three goals in NHL history. New York outscored North Stars 2-1 in :15 during the second period, as the North Stars won the game 7-5. Tom McCarthy led the North Stars with 2 goals and an assist.

1986:  NHL center Jarod Palmer born in Fridley, MN.  Palmer has played in the NHL since 2011-12 with Minnesota.

1987:  NHL defenseman Justin Braun born in Minneapolis, MN.  Braun has played in the NHL since 2010-11 with San Jose.

1991:  Dave Christian scored a goal to reach his 700th career NHL point as the Bruins won 7-4 against the Nordiques, in Quebec City.

2002:  Despite being outshot 31-18 by the visiting New York Islanders, Minnesota Wild's Sergei Zholtok scored twice in the third period for a 4-3 victory.

2003:  Manny Fernandez recorded his 7th career shutout as the Wild tied a franchise record with their 12th road victory of the season with a 1-0 win against at Philadelphia. It was their first ever shutout over the Flyers.

2006:  Minnesota's Pierre-Marc Bouchard set a team record by scoring twice in a span of 16 seconds in the first period as the Wild won 6-3 over the Oilers at Edmonton. Bouchard also had two assists in the game.

2006:  Kurtis Foster tied a Minnesota team record for defensemen by taking 7 shots for the Wild, picking up two assists in a 6-3 win at Edmonton.

2007:  Wild scored 4 straight goals over a 12-minute span in the first period, including two power-play goals by Marian Gaborik as Minnesota won 5-4 over the visiting Carolina Hurricanes.

2008:  Brent Burns scored a shootout goal in the 6th round, his second game-winning goal in two days as the Minnesota Wild recorded the 100th road victory in franchise history, 2-1 shootout win against the Blues at St. Louis.

2011:  Rookie Michael Grabner scored twice and Kyle Okposo scored on the Islanders fourth shootout attempt for a 4-3 victory in Montreal.

2022:  Former Miracle on Ice Rob McClanahan jersey #10 was retired by his H.S. Alma Mater Mounds View prior to Mustangs vs. Blake Bears game in which McClanahan was Head Coach for Bears.  In Robs' senior year at Mounds View, his Mustangs went 24-0 winning the section title.
