1957: Former NHL goalie Jim Craig born in North Easton, Mass. Craig was the winning goalie for the U.S. in the 1980 Olympics, then played in the NHL 1979-80 through 1980-81 with Atlanta, Boston and the Minnesota North Stars.
1985: Edmonton traded Paul Houck to the Minnesota North Stars in exchange for Gilles Meloche.
1991: Winnipeg Jets obtained Rob Murray from the Minnesota North Stars, in exchange for a 7th round draft choice (Geoff Finch) in 1991 and future considerations.
1999: Erik Rasmussen scored the game winner midway through the third period as Buffalo won 4-2 at Toronto, to eliminate the Leafs from the playoffs in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Buffalo earned its first trip to the finals since 1975.
2012: Minnesota Wild signed Goaltender Johan Gustafsson to a three-year, entry-level contract.
2014: The Minnesota Wild ageed to a multi-year contract, re-signing with Head Coach Mike Yeo.
