1963: Former NHL defenseman Ron Meighan born in Montreal, Quebec. Meighan played in the NHL 1981-82 through 1982-83 with the Minnesota North Stars and Pittsburgh.
1987: Minnesota North Stars signed Wally Schreiber as a free agent.
1991: Minnesota North Stars obtained goaltender Darcy Wakaluk from the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for an eighth round pick in the 1991 NHL Draft (Jiri Kuntos).
1995: Neal Broten scored twice, including the winning goal at 18:36 of overtime, and John MacLean picked up two assists as the Devils won 2-1 over the Penguins, in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals, in New Jersey.
2000: Concrete was poured for new Xcel Energy Center's ice floor in St. Paul, MN.
