1948:  Former NHL head coach Pierre Page born in St. Hermas, Quebec. Page coached in the NHL 1988-89 through 1993-94 with Minnesota and Quebec. He later coached the Calgary Flames and the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim.

2001:  Minnesota Wild signed free agent right wing Ravil Gusmanov, who had spent the previous three seasons with the Russian Elite Hockey League.

2006:  Rookie Cam Ward made 30 saves to record his third consecutive victory, and Eric Staal and Matt Cullen scored power-play goals to lead the Hurricanes to a 2-1 win against the visiting Montreal Canadiens, in Game 5 of the Eastern Conf. Quarter-Finals.

2013:  Josh Harding made 35 saves in relief of injured Niklas Backstrom and Ryan Suter led all skaters with 41:08 of ice time in his playoff debut with Minnesota as the Wild lost 2-1 at Chicago in Game 1 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals.

2013:  40-year-old Brian Rolston officially announced his retirement after 17 NHL seasons with New Jersey, Colorado, Boston, Minnesota, and the NY Islanders.

2014:  According the Elias Sports Bureau, the Minnesota Wild became the 1st team in NHL history to win in overtime after scoring four tying goals vs. the Colorado Avalanche in a 5-4 victory in Game 7 of their opening-round playoff series to advance to the Second Round.  Nino Niederreiter entered Wild lore when he scored 5:02 into overtime to send the Wild into the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs vs. the Chicago Blackhawks.

2015:  Minnesota Wild Goaltender - Devan Dubnyk was named as one of the finalists for the NHL's Masterton Memorial Trophy.
